Basic Steps and Methods to Build a Website for Beginner
I have been into website building for about two (2) years since and back a year ago i only know how to make basic simple website using notepad in html extension. Even until now, those simple skills really teach me and make me realized how bad i was in programming. Though, i still not give up and trying.
There are few steps to build a website which i slowly learn and practice in making website.
- Figure out your purpose of building a website: many people do not know the purpose of building a website. Some may build one in order to make money, some want to share their hobby, profession, career etc. This is the basic and pillar of everything. Then you can continue to the next step.
- Know what to do and what to be fill in the website: some wanted to fill out the website with shared sources such as images and music, maybe one want to leave out their thoughts and expert with others, etc. This also what to be consider when building a website. This will support the above purpose.
- When the website is up never lose control of it: Do always updates, fill the site with quality contents, make it resourceful to visitors and interact with the website visitors using email, comment, or chat platform.
I believe those three is the basic consistence reason in making website.
These are few methods that i used to build a website.
Use Dreamweaver: Most literate people who create and designing a website will use dreamweaver because of it reliability, wide sources of extensions, expandable window, designer and coder option, ability to edit and modify, remote server editor, css styling and online technical support from dreamweaver themselves, etc. I believe in about less than a day if you play, explore and test with the buttons and feature, you will gain some simple technique to build a website. Try editing some simple website template, see the positioning and codes. Experiment with browsers. Without knowing, you will gain something useful.

I know, if you do not have an internet connection at home it is quite difficult to do testing on browsers. Because of that, i suggest you use XAMPP from Apache Server. You do not have to go regularly to office or cybercafe just to upload and testing your website. With this software, it will automatically install Apache distribution containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. XAMPP is really very easy to install and to use - just download, extract and start. Without any internet connection at home, you can test your website on browsers offline. It is great that i found this useful software. Last time, i had to spend a lot of time at office and cybercafe.
But then, having an internet connection is far better that you can interact with visitors and see stats. I am just giving an option of how to upload your website to a server and see how it looks like regardless of having internet connection.- Even if you have some knowledge of using dreamweaver to create a website, if you are looking for short cut, i suggest using a ready made template could be useful. A ready made website template may have some extra features that could not easily made with basic dreamweaver knowledge. There are lots of resource today for this purpose. Many can be found easily on internet.
- When you are ready to put your website on the net, do consider a good web host. What can be said as good is the uptime of the server. Your visitor will come to the website from all over the world, at different time region. So, 100% uptime server is crucial for your website to be seen by visitors. However, 100% is quite impossible. So choose the best web host that can offer you almost 100% server uptime.
However, the most important of all is your website must have unique, quality and useful content just like i stated at above. People seek for knowledge, information and resource from a website. If your website is having that, you will get lots of traffic, enormous back links and increase in your alexa and pagerank. A dream of every webmaster.
